10th Apr – last chance to get $5k AWS Credits

Sadly, I learned on 1st April that our partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) is coming to end. It was quite a blow to take just after hosting tech legend, Jeff Barr from AWS in Manchester on the 30th of March.

“From 11 April 2023, the code that your startups have used to redeem credit will no longer be active”.

The AWS Activate programme started in 2013, the year we decided to take a break. After restarting Techcelerate in 2018, we partnered with AWS in 2021.

Many of Techcelerate Members benefited from AWS over the years, including the two largest Members, Malinko and My Digital Accounts.

By the time Malinko was acquired by Civica, Malinko was paying AWS well over £10,000 a month. My Digital is also paying thousands of GBP a month, after benefiting from the initial credits.

I asked AWS,

“Would a tech company that joins Techcelerate from anywhere in the world still qualifies for $5k AWS Credits even if they previously had AWS credits from others?”

And the answer was

“Yes”

So if you still want to access $5k AWS credits before the end of 10th April, here’s what you have to do:

  • Join Techcelerate.
  • If you do not have an account with AWS, create one.
  • Apply for the AWS Activate programme.
  • When presented with the following screen, add our code.
  • Once you have joined Techcelerate, I will email you the instructions.
AWS $5k Credits

Small print: You should only join Techcelerate if you want to be part of our community. In the case of your application to AWS unsuccessful, Techcelerate will not refund the membership fee, as you joined Techcelerate to be part of their Tech Founder community.
