Launch of Techcelerate Coffees Liverpool and the walk about

Since I moved back to Sci-Tech Daresbury, both Paul Treloar and John Leake have been instrumental in getting me to think about Liverpool’s tech ecosystem. As a result, I hosted our first Techcelerate Coffees Liverpool at Leaf at Bold Street, which was attended by 22 folks with 3 no show. This was our 25th Techcelerate Coffees which started in May 2018 (17 in Manchester, 7 in London and now first in Liverpool).

We were supported by our Partners, Sci-Tech Daresbury, We Are Nova, Brabners and Sales Velocity.

Tech Companies attended included, Devtropolis (SaaS), Simply People (MarketPlace), Coupon Bank (RetailTech), PinIOT (SaaS), Texxi (TravelTech), ComplyTag (PropTech) among others.

After the event, I dragged my old buddies Simon Grice and Eric Masaba across the town to visit John Mckerrel’s and Adrian McEwen’s DoES Liverpool co-working and maker’s space. What they have achieved as a grassroots effort is awesome.

Next time, I must remember to visit Joanne Phoenix at Sensor City, as I only realised their proximity to Leaf during the walkabout.

To finish it all off with a high, Eric showed me various parts of Liverpool including the most affluent whilst giving me a full history lesson.

Thanks Eric and everyone who joined us today.
